Women are awesome! This is a fact that cannot be denied. While some prefer to be a stay-at-home wife, mother (or both), others find fulfillment in conquering the corporate world, entertaining, or following whatever passions they possess. In some cases, there are even some who are fulfilling their dreams in the workplace and taking care of everything at home. In any case, women are the driving force and have a strength that cannot be challenged. Some people question how we can get everything done and still stay sane. Tasks that appear to be impossible and unmanageable are just a part of our daily routine. One thing that is certain is often times, women can forget to take care of themselves in all of the hustle and flow of everyday life. As beings that are nurturing in nature, we can sometimes lose sight of the importance of self-care. Some have no problem balancing work, home, friends, family, and self-care, but for others, it can be incredibly draining and seemingly impossible.
Every so often, however, we just want to let loose. When work becomes too much, the kids are driving you crazy, that call-back just hasn’t happened, or you just need a break, have a little fun and leave the stress behind for a while. Every so often, we deserve to treat ourselves (we should everyday if we are being honest). Eat that cheat meal! Go out for a night on the town with your friends! Plan a weekend getaway! Have a little retail therapy. Just sit somewhere and meditate, pray, listen to music, read a book, or just be alone in a moment of clarity. All of these options can be fun if you want them to be. We spend so much time taking care of others (which giving back and doing for others is not a bad thing), but please remember to take care of yourself first!
